I will not hide it: at some moment I lost the desire to drive a car. Closer to autumn a problem with the sun begins in Norway. The sun shines low, and when you are driving a car it can appear suddenly from behind a rock or a cloud and blind you. Everything happens in one moment, unexpectedly and very unpleasantly. Norwegians are used to this. But I, an impressionable person who notices everything around, naturally got stressed one day.
And I decided for myself that I ought “not to rush into battle,” but calmly look out the window, take travel photos, and not get too worked up about studying on driving courses. And so I spent some time in “inaction,” i.e. I left this idea.
But Ivan had a dream of buying a Tesla. He signed up in a computer queue and began patiently waiting for the delivery of a Tesla S to Norway. Of course he started telling me the merits and privileges of this car, and that it is supposedly very “advantageous”: free charging, parking and roads. In general we decided that when we buy a Tesla, we will put the Citroën up for sale.
Once Ivan told me that a special socket is required for the Tesla, which needs to be installed in the garage. Our garage was quite simple, not electrified, wooden. And a socket for a Tesla is a serious thing, and it is installed by a specialised firm. OK.
He orders this socket, but before the specialists arrive we ourselves needed to dig a trench from the house to the garage 3 m long and 50 cm deep, along which an electric cable would be run from the house. It was spring, the ground had already thawed, and Ivan did this “dirty work” independently. I must note that the layer of soil is very slight in Norway, and under the soil there is impenetrable stone. But Ivan managed to dig the trench.
At the appointed hour two Norwegian lads arrived and in half a day did everything, taking for the work 3000 euros. (the zeros are written by me correctly) or 30 thousand Norwegian kroner — that is the size of a good monthly salary. “However….,” I uttered the words of a well-known hero from “The Twelve Chairs.”
