In this part I will reveal a family secret, about which I was silent all summer. Today I have in a certain sense a holiday, and for my husband Ivan it is definitely a holiday. They returned his driving licence after a 4-month punishment for speeding: he overtook in a 60 km zone, drove at a speed of 90 km and “straight” ran into a police patrol. They were just carrying out a raid! And also a fine of 1000 euros! As they say, “even an old woman can make a blunder.” The first time in his life he suffered like that.
Luckily the firm where he works “met him halfway” and allowed him to work from home. And as I have already written, what was written before me and became a quotation — “an automobile is not a luxury, but a means of transport” — that is just about Norway! Well, it is bad here without a car if you live not in a big city, and there are only 4 big cities in Norway.
And so imagine: all summer I was forced to drive the Tesla and take my husband. Four months have already passed, and I have only now got used to it. But today with joy I “gave it back” into the owner’s hands, having gained good experience of driving on narrow Norwegian roads.
Of course I will write my “non-advertising opinion” of this modern car. For me the Tesla is bulky, wide, with a low seat. All summer I felt pain in the left shoulder from tension while driving. I “saved myself” with special gymnastics and swimming. While driving, the screen shows how the car is positioned on the road. That only strained me and distracted me. I adapted to looking only at the road, so as to position the car correctly.
Of course, there are also many merits. On the screen the speed that one needs to keep on the given stretch of road always lights up. Convenience of the pedals: you almost do not use the brake, you work only with one accelerator pedal. You ease off the pedal a little — the speed immediately drops. And safety. The computer reports an obstacle and the car can stop automatically.
But I am now glad that I will drive my Citroën again, because it is best of all to drive YOUR OWN car!
