Well now! «LIVE MORE WONDERFULLY — YOU WILL BECOME FAMOUS FASTER»

Did you watch the interview on YouTube with the intriguing title «to Norway at 58» by the Ukrainian blogger Viktoria (the blog name is «Life with Pepper»)? Now you can read what I left unsaid. The interview lasted more than an hour, and in the rough version it was 3.5 hours. Yes! It came out optimistic–inspiring. Of course that is not bad!

And there was a task: to support women who are over 50, now in a difficult life situation, who have already forgotten and given up on their personal life. For the first time in my life I learned so much about myself in the comments left. I thank you for every comment! I felt famous…

Egoism, pragmatism, «and not a word about the children.» «and mama?» «and she lives at her husband’s expense!?» «and not a word about the first marriage!» ……

So then, do you know the secret of our family happiness? We never tell and never recall our life with the former ones! Our fates are similar. We were the same number of years — 14 years — in first marriages. My husband left me in 1989, when the sons were 6 and 9 years old.

And does anyone among you who are reading remember what was happening in the country in 1989? What was it called there? «Perestroika, acceleration»? And what was there in general then? I remembered my colleague. She travelled to Kiev to work in the library, and lived in a village near Vasylkiv. She had three children. And I lived in Kiev and had no idea what village life was. And I ask her: «Oh Valya, you probably have a cow too?», and Valya answers me: «ta ni! We only have children!»

And now I remembered Valya, when I was left alone and only my children… And then they started cutting the libraries too — «no money!» «no salary» but barter appeared! There, exactly! Does anyone remember what they paid wages with in the country? Well then? Continue or leave this crap of memories. But I lived in all of this… When they started cutting me at the library, the head, so embarrassed, said: well, Ira, you knit after all! — «And so?» well… you’ll survive, since you know how to knit… Yes! «kind people they were, responsive» 😻 especially the bosses 😻.

All right, I’ll leave the 90s for now. I’ll return to the bright side of my life — to «Lady Luck». When I moved into the Norwegian village, everything in the house was so neglected. There seemed to be a lot of stuff, but little use of it; with things and the household it was all right, you could sort it out gradually, but with the younger girl there was trouble of which Ivan was silent when we married.

You know, teenagers are different. The girl had friends; she rarely came back from school on time (and you could get to the village from school only by the school bus, and the last bus from town was at 17:30). So almost every evening, and also weekends, we only occupied ourselves with driving with Ivan in the car and picking her up from different settlements of our county within a radius of 50 km. Rain, snow, black ice, winding roads, storms, and we — hop into the car around 11 in the evening and go to pick her up, and she did not tell us the exact address, she came out to the bus stop.

And Ivan did not know (or perhaps did not want to know) who her friends were and what they did in their free time from school. I once said to him that one ought to find out who her friends are, with whom she communicates, to which he answered: here it is not customary to poke into children’s personal lives, here psychologists work with children. «well all right,» I thought, «breathe evenly, teacher!» «here is not there!» 🙄

to be continued ….

P.S. And those who are very interested, I ask to «take a stroll» through my blog from 2018.
