Oh no, pardon, the other way around, Vanya took me to the Canaries. Neither in dreams nor in thoughts did I have such a thing, to fly in there. 🙄 Honestly, I am not a tourist, not a traveller and not a cosmonaut. I confess, I feel fear and I myself fight it and calm myself.
But there are also positive moments in this week-long trip — this is the sensation of «privileges» which I had not had before. I list them: the first privilege is amazingly–delightfully to fall from winter into summer! But gathering, which things to put in the suitcase — that is quite a puzzle! Ivan prepaid the baggage and I had to fit into 20 kg.
You know, frightened by the masks in Italy on the cruise liner (I have already described that trip), I took with me disposable masks, an elastic bandage, activated charcoal, tablets for allergy, for the head, dried pomegranate peels (you can brew them with boiling water for diarrhoea), scissors.
So… 🧐 shoes: I travel in boots, trainers, little pump shoes, flip-flops and knitted slippers I packed in the suitcase. To knit slippers for all members of the family and non-members of the family — that is my firm, unshakeable hobby 😄 And I did not miscalculate in taking them with me. In the south, indoors, the floors are laid with cold tile without heating. That is very unaccustomed for me. (In Norway there is enough wood, which they use in construction. In our modern apartment the floors are wooden with electric heating, which is not switched off even in summer. (In the apartment there is not a single radiator at all.))
The second privilege is the comfortable delivery of me to the local airport early in the morning in our expensive and beloved Tesla car. I had asked Ivan in advance how we would get to the airport, maybe a taxi? But to my surprise the cost of a taxi trip turned out equal to the cost of parking the Tesla for a week at the airport! Well, look at that taxi service in Norway. So I had worried in vain about warm clothes. In the waiting hall one did not have to freeze.
And at last I saw Norwegians and started carefully looking them over, in what clothes they fly south. Mostly sporty, hand luggage — backpacks. At last they announced boarding and everyone headed to the plane on foot across the airfield. Here the warm clothes turned out very much to the point. We had seats in the «tail» of the plane, but without thinking and without paying attention to the open entrance at the tail, we used the steps set at the front of the plane. And having entered the plane I understood that we had made a big mistake — you have to walk the whole plane! But we were not alone in our muddle-headedness! A stream of Norwegians who had come up the second, tail, steps squeezed through to their front seats! Apologising and smiling at one another. Some Norwegians even had children with them. 🙄
In the end everyone sat down, the pilot announced the flight time — 5 hours. Here suddenly Vanya decided to calm me in case of an emergency. He recalled a recent incident in Japan, and how in one!!! minute and 49 seconds they evacuated the Japanese during a fire in the plane already on the airfield, to which I answered: «well, yes, those are Japanese after all, they are small and disciplined! And judging by how muddle-headedly the Norwegians boarded the plane (I managed to catch the irritated face of the stewardess pushing through to the tail), we would hardly get out in two minutes in an extreme situation.» But the deed is done — we fly!
